I am super excited to share with you the latest addition to Rocker Crochet Mama on etsy: the first Kitten-Ear Headband! If you have a little girl in your life to spoil, you should definitely check this one out!
This headband is made in beautiful soft, thick yarn giving it that wicked chunky look. I loved the way felt creating it, and the wonderful pattern it made as it went. It was really easy to work with, making this headband a real pleasure to create!
This headband is made of yarn that is pure new wool, acrylic and alpaca. It is absolutely delightful to touch, and a pleasure to wear, I would imagine! The thickness of the yarn means the ears stick right up, making it a stand-out accessory.
My daughter Boo loves “Hello Kitty” and I can’t lie – the colour scheme of this headband is inspired by that adorable cat. I added a little red bow on the left ear to give it a little something. It also features bright pink stitching around the base of the headband, and a more baby pink inside the ears – just to prettify it further!
This headband is made to fit a girl aged around 4 – 8 years old. And at $12.00, it would make an adorable, yet affordable handmade gift.
I think I’ll have to make a few more of these, it would have be one of my favourites!
You can find this cute accessory listed here at Rocker Crochet Mama.
This is my average work day.
Needless to say, there hasn’t been an awful lot of work done!
Thankfully, we’re getting back in the groove of normal life, and I have more hats and headbands just about ready to share with you all! I’m pretty excited!
Don’t forget to check out the Facebook page – I hope to hear from you soon!
Yesterday I finished my latest trial creation: kitten ear headbands!
This is my daughter Boo wearing hers. Despite the sassy face, she is actually pretty chuffed with it!
I’m excited to make more cat ear creations, and can’t wait to experiment with different colours and textures. I’m planning to make these in a range of sizes too – including adult!!
Oh, and this is what I made with that wool I purchased (see previous post). It turned out beautifully, with little bursts of colour among the bright yellow. Really quick and easy to work with too.
Keep an eye on the Etsy store (www.etsy.com/au/shop/RockerCrochetMama) as I’m sure to be stocking up soon!
Check out what I found on a recent visit to Chiltern! Hand dyed pure wool!
This was an exciting find. Chiltern is a quaint little town, a ten minutes drive away from my place. Much like my hometown, it doesn’t appear to change much – so to stumble across a new store was a real treat!
Take a look at the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/dciarts. Beautiful, quirky, handmade creations locally. I found the shop owner really lovely too. I think I’ve found a new favourite place!
Now, to see what I can create!!

This week I am very excited to share the latest addition to Rocker Crochet Mama: “Little Kitten Meow-Meow”!
This is one of my absolute favourites! A while ago on Twitter, Gerard Way (lead singer of former band ‘My Chemical Romance’) was going on about cats. I actually have no idea why, yet I adore the lad and try to follow along. Every so often he runs an #artissmart competition of sorts, and this time announced one with the subject of cats (#catsaresmart). And so, clearly moved and inspired, I created Little Kitten Meow-Meow.
I chose Moda Vera “Marvel Super Soft 8 ply” to create this gem. The yarn, as name suggests, is lovely and soft, perfect for a youngster’s head. It is also terrifically bright and glossy. Like a little ball of sunshine. The trim around the brim of the hat and the ears is Moda Vera “Jazz”. It has a feathery-like texture to it that is almost fluffy.
I’m quite a fan of finishing items off with Jazz as I love the edge it gives; that little added layer and point of difference that makes it stand out.
I asked my daughter Boo to model this hat for me. A photo of it flat just doesn’t do it justice – you need to see the ears stick up and brim fluff up to really get a feel for it. It is hard to keep this munchkin still for long – something tells me we’re not up for a modeling career!
I’ve noticed there’s been a bit of interest around this kitten hat online, so I’m hoping to add to and broaden the kitten collection – look out for more hats and headbands in a range of sizes, colours and textures coming soon!
In the mean time, you can check out Little Kitten Meow-Meow here.
